I'd put Malaysian food right up there with Thai food it's that good IMHO. I only been to KL (Kuala Lumpur) part of that country.

I've been to KL a few times. I was going to meet some friends. He was taking me and my kids out. We passed by all these local Indian places, or Malay-Indian fusion places, I would have loved to have eaten at if I weren't visiting with them. Instead we went to the purple or blue rice place.

I agree that Malaysian food is good. It's just, I'd been living in Indonesia, and the food seems to be pretty much the same, generally, and the many of same people-groups span both borders. But there are regional dishes and variations in different towns in both countries. I tried to blue or purple rice dish that day, but taste wise I wouldn't have been able to distinguish it from Indonesian food.

It was good to see my Malaysian friends again.

On other visa runs, I think I only remember eating Malay food there one other time. I probably ate quite a bit and can't remember because it is similar to Indonesian. I also got to the point when I went to Singapore for visa runs, I wasn't that crazy about trying the local food. Once, I was there with my wife. She wanted to get some noodles at the street hawker stalls. I was like, meh, we eat noodles in Jakarta all the time. She said, these are different, they are Singaporean. I was like, there is a Burger King over there. There was no Burger King in Jakarta at the time. Singapore had a really good Burger King. A Singaporean I knew said their Burger King was better in the US because they fresh baked their own bread. It was really good.

Nowadays, since I've been out of Indonesia, a Malaysian or Singaporean local meal sounds pretty good.


KL is a lot less of a mess than Jakarta. The traffic isn't as jammed. It's less crowded and better laid out. The city seems pretty developed, more like a small Singapore than a small Jakarta. A lot more people are fluent in English. There seem to be a lot more people from the subcontinent, also, or from Indian, etc. heritage. I did come across a guy I asked a question of or made small talk with in a mall who couldn't speak English or Malay. I think he was from Bangladesh.

Well I want to make a trip back to MY (Malaysia) and have to do Indonesia ID too. A lot to explore and re-explore there. Thanks for the reply.

For food, Indonesia probably has a lot more variety. It is so big and there is variety between one people-group's food and another. You can get Minang/Padang food in either country. But Manado has some good food, and there are many other tribe's food to try.

My best friend (only one of about 4 of them, but still) and also my favorite uncle are a couple of jew bastards too (just peasants and churls like me with no connection to the tribe, which they don't like either), but that just makes me all the less apologetic about my own "virulent antisemitism." The synagogue of satan elites are the worst, but must say I'm disgusted with how few of them on the lower end will do anything to rebel against the tribe, though some certainly do. Their defectors are good as gold, Benjamin Freedman, Paul Rassinier, nowadays Ron Unz, and there's more.

Ron Jeremy is an interesting inclusion though, compared with what we were talking about on being unapologetic sex addicts in the other thread by @Lucas88. However, he's a case where he was a very personable seeming guy who had great people skills so easily could have been getting laid for life with tons of women with zero coercion or abuses, and yet wasn't he apparently so compulsive and over-indulgent in aggressively forcing himself on the "shiksas" of all ages (the jewish term for gentile females, translating more or less as "a piece of meat,") that he ended up charged with dozens of sexual assaults and rapes....? Often the jewdicial system lets criminal jews off with minimal penalties if there's jew lawyers and judges involved (e.g. Sacklers), but I guess not in his case?

I just have to jump back in and point out periodically I never said anything insane about how "black men are strong" and thus supposedly invulnerable to having their nations fall to globohomo, or that none of them are homos just because a lot of them are homophobic. But it's still true promising developing African nations are still trying to keep homosexuality out of their countries. There's some kind of a straight black pride movement too that I noticed and they said they played a role in preventing Bermuda from legalizing globohomo. So I just give credit where it's due.

I don't care about African countries and don't want to live around nigs anywhere in the world. I haven't been there in a while, and I probably developed some tolerance after getting sick a few times, but I didn't get sick that much in Indonesia. I think part of it was that I didn't eat raw vegetables from street vendors, not unless I washed it in drinking water. Lettuce is covered in unpottable tap water they washed it in. If they gave me a mug of kind of warm boiled water and I had something to wash it in, I might eat it if I really wanted that or some other vegetable for the meal. I've eaten at the Padang Warung set up over the drainage ditches. For noodle vendors that passed in front of the house, I'd use my own bowl instead of some nasty bowl the guy couldn't wash properly.

I think the sickest I got from eating out was from Wendy's or California Pizza Kitchen. At CPK, I asked for some pizza sauce from the back and the guy gave it to me. I dipped my crust in it, and got terribly sick. Later, I asked for sauce from Pizza Hut and they said it had raw tap water in it so they couldn't give it to me for dipping. Ahhh, that's probably why I got sick at CPK.

I was at this mall and got the chicken sandwich from Wendy's and got sick and forgot about that sandwich making me sick. Some time later, probably years later, I worked close to the mall and got the chicken sandwich at Wendy's at lunch and got the same kind of stomach problems again. Stay away from the chicken sandwich at Pondok Indah mall in Jakarta.

I've probably gotten sick off of Jakarta street food but specific incidents do not come to mind.

I think I did get sick off some noodles at a Chinese restaurant in the Tepanuli area of Sumatra once. Everyone else ordered a certain noodle and I was the only one who got this other kind, and I was the only one who got sick. So I go to this village and eat just rice and broth. Then I realized there was no pork, and it didn't look like chicken broth. They were eating chicken and dog. It turns out it was dog broth. I'd never eaten dog before.
