$$$$$$$$$$$ NICE!!!!!!
Never knew about those... Australasian, apparently?
As for the upcoming list: I'll try to keep participating more regularly now that I'm huddled down in a fixed location for the holidays.

Knuckles!! Good post.

Iguana was already mentioned but this is a specific species of iguana. I think we can use specific species as answers.WilliamSmith wrote: ↑February 5th, 2023, 2:56 amHmmph, why isn't anyone else playing the Animal game anymore... I'm doing all the heavy lifting around here...
IGUANA:
It's the Hellshire Hells' Jamaican Ground Iguana (so I could've got this entry in on any of H, I, or J... if I had any competition):
A hoghunter in the Hellshire Hills in 1990 was out in the dry limestone forest with his dogs, and they nabbed one, and he called the Kingston Zoo and said he'd caught a "dragon." Apparently they thought it was a prank at first, but then when they saw it, it was a big deal because these types of iguanas were thought to be extinct.
That was awhile ago, but I think they're still out there.....

OK, thanks for clarifying the rules. I archived the other entries from previous rounds so I can avoid duplicates. We totally should be able to use specific species though, glad you agree.
