My Challenge to Rock!

Unless of course the troll felt so secure in his connection to you that it made him feel untouchable, in a sense? I mean think about it, you and Rock go back many, many years. He's your long-time friend, you have met him many times, gone out with him, had adventures and countless debates and conversation with him. He knows that as your long-term comrade-in-arms, he's safe from suspicion. So he can raise any subject with you, say anything, bring up any subject and he could get away with it. I mean just look at how eager you are to defend Rock in spite of the mountain of evidence provided by @Pixel--Dude in this thread... that's because on a subconscious level, you don't want to think of him as guilty. You want him to be innocent. You want him to not be the troll.

But it honestly seems highly likely that Rock's Mercer. Because we know from his posting style and countless references to forum events that took place many years ago, that whoever is behind the Mercer account, is a long-time former member of the site. Are there any other suspects beyond Rock, who were also in Thailand during the time the Recover account was active? I can't think of any...

Plus the other suspect Winston offered up has zero evidence implicating them. It's just speculation. But with Rock we have a connection with all these troll accounts. It's pretty damning.

Still, I'm open minded and fair. I think Rock should sign in and have his say. If I'm convinced of his innocence then I will remove the entire thread. But let me tell you, that's not going to be likely to happen. The evidence points towards Rock and I'm following the evidence.

Yeah, he should of course be free to sign in and face the music, provide his side of the story and refute your evidence. He has every right to do that. He can start by honestly disclosing which of the troll accounts you banned recently was his, and explain the similarities with the Mercer account. I'm curious and open to hearing his story, and he should be given that chance. Anyway the account of @Rock isn't banned so anytime he wants to go here and have his say, he can just login and say his piece.

Still, given all the evidence you have provided in this thread, he truly seems like the only possible candidate? There's no one else who comes to mind, really. I used to think it's possible he's @Ghost due to Mercer's tendency of editing and emptying out his past comments, something Ghost also did after he left. But them again, Ghost never struck me as the malicious sort. And he left out of fear of being doxed, and I think that fear would prevent him from signing on and causing havoc for no reason.

The only logical candidate is Rock. That said... I'd still be interested in hearing him refute your evidence in a convincing way. As a start, he should own up to the sockpuppet account he recently made. It sure wasn't "normal guy" or "average guy" or any of that. Time for him to come clean.

It's very possible to "have a life" and still do these things. Note that Mercer only comes online kind of sporadically. He'd go on "posting sprees", pick fights, but he certainly wasn't online 24/7. A lot of posters here have "lives", jobs, businesses, wives, children, friends and a social life. And still we find time, every now and then, to make comments. It doesn't take long to write a comment, you can do it in just a few minutes, even a longer comment.

Rock "having a life" doesn't make him suddenly no longer a suspect. Also there may be a bitter, more unpleasant side to Rock's personality that he's been wise to hide from even his closest friends and associates. Everyone has their regrets, their reasons for unhappiness, and no one is 100% cheerful and positive all the time. And you'd be surprised by how many people, even seemingly normal, productive members of society, have a penchant for stirring shit and causing drama for their own amusement. It wouldn't be far-fetched at all, it's super common.

Instead of looking at what his personality is like, the one he's shown you, let us instead look simply at the evidence provided in the OP. If you, or Rock, or anyone else cannot refute that evidence, the only logical conclusion is that Rock is behind these trolling accounts.

But yeah ok, in theory maybe I was going with the herd too much in assuming "Rock" is actually the culprit since I haven't digested all the info and am a newer member here, so I'll leave it to the big brains around here to figure it out.

I thought Rock and ladislav's threads about Jamaica were good reads (both posted many years ago), so I had a good impression, more or less. (Though I also mistakenly had a good impression of CE too until he posted other nasty stuff, but nevermind that tangent.)

All I know about Rock was that when he posted under his actual username (unlike whoever is behind all the troll accounts) I definitely liked what I saw and he seemed smart, but I only saw a few threads where he posted stuff about Jamaica, and also argued with you a lot because he likes Taiwan and you hate it and posted like 100 articles saying the Taiwanese are supposedly mindless drones or whatever.
(FYI, I also like Taiwan and Taiwanese people and don't really agree with you about what you said, but NBD, and I'm still seriously considering moving to Jamaica, though starting to lean a little more toward only sailing around the small islands with multiple passports for various reasons, such as their rumors of converting to full digital currency in Jamaica....)

The only other thing I know about Rock was when I listened to a podcast that I think was you and him, and heard some guy complaining about he didn't think you should allow "conspiracy theories" to be posted on your forum (sounds a bit jewy to me, but modern day whites are such a bunch of spineless cucks for the most part that I admit it's not a foregone conclusion he's a jew just because he was whining for censorship of the type of topics jews don't want goys to discuss). But I got bored and tuned out without listening to anymore of it.

I can understand Rock to a degree. He was used to trolling and now he can't do it. I mean on a lower level that was the case with me. When Pixel-Dude showed up I was angry because I could not do what I did before but as Pixel Dude did a good job I could adapt to it. The thing with Rock is he has no normal account here. He played only the troll game so he has no alternative. If he would come with a normal account he will be called out all the time for his past acts. So basically his favorite playground is destroyed.

But Rock has a small chance. Winston might go back to allow troll culture because that suits his personality then Pixel Dude might give up and Rock is back.

Yes, true, I met ROCK in Pattaya after a short brief HA-private message exchange in 2018, more than 5 years ago.

Durng a lunch we were talking about this and that for maybe 1 hour. Just a harmless talk about all and everything.
As you know, I am in Japan/Thailand and sometimes Philippines, never back to Europe - and ROCK told me he is living in Taiwan/Thailand/Philippines and only occasionally back to the USA.

He appeared to me very calm and friendly and intelligent and we had a good meeting, but after we never had any personal contact again and we have not been in contact by email or private messages up to now.

I have no idea where he is now and if he is really trolling this HA Forum and what sockpuppet ID he might use for posting annoying garbage comments but I wonder why he should do it.. doing it for what?

I think that the evidence against your friend is pretty damning at this point. At the very least he has a fascination with these nasty trolls - trolls who are so vile as to insult people's family members and girlfriends/wives, somebody's 6 year-old daughter and even the forum's deceased members - and even complains about them being banned, which shows that Rock definitely has a twisted dark side. But the fact that Rock is so invested in these troll accounts, knew about the banning of the Mercer sockpuppet Recover, and then admitted to having created new accounts but being unable to identify which ones they were, all raises the suspicion tremendously to the point where the most likely possibility is that Rock himself is the author of the troll accounts, as hard as that may be for you to believe.

As for why Rock has outright complained to you about the troll accounts being banned and thereby made himself look suspicious, like @MarcosZeitola commented, Rock might feel that he's already so close to you that he has the ability to get away with whatever he wants and that you'd never believe his guilt anyway. If that's what Rock thinks, then judging by your reactions in this thread it seems that he's right. Lol!

Furthermore, some criminals in real life love to play on the edge and even give subtle hints of their guilt because in their own minds they see themselves as far more intelligent than everyone else and regard other people as too dumb to ever catch them out. For those types of criminals, subtly admitting their guilt yet still not getting caught gives a huge boost to their ego. It might be that Rock underestimates your intelligence, Winston, and believes that he can act as suspicious as he likes and that you and others will still never catch on.

As others have already explained, just because somebody has "good character" in public doesn't mean that they're incapable of doing evil or otherwise bizarre things in private. Many people - far more than what you'd think - have a hidden dark side or live a double life. The internet is testament to that. Consider all of the shocking and disturbing confessions and testimonies that you can find on forums like Reddit and many other parts of cyberspace and then bear in mind that many of those authors are on the surface regular professionals who you meet on the subway or in the company office and appear completely normal and respectable. Almost everybody wears a mask in public.

Thank you for your feedback and contributions, everyone. Rock wants to talk to me on the phone to clear it up, but to be honest I don't trust him and have severe reservations about sharing my phone number with someone I suspect is guilty of being the Mercer troll.

@Rock has made himself look suspicious and the more I read the correlation between the Mercer accounts and things Rock said to Winson believing it was in confidence, the more I suspect Rock is guilty.

I know you guys have all met Rock and probably have doubts as to whether he could be guilty, but as I asked before. Look at the evidence from the perspective of an impartial observer rather than someone who likes Rock. I've never met him. I know nothing of his character and personality. I have absolutely NO reason to make such an accusation against him without basis. Surely even HE must admit that all the evidence I've posted looks suspicious. Even if he is innocent he cannot deny how this looks! You can't have a biased opinion when it comes to investigating this! You need to review the evidence. I've been investigating the Mercer troll for a long time. I've compiled a lot of evidence. And I can see the links.

Besides, @Lucas88 was right that not everyone acts who they really are when in a public meeting lasting an hour or a few hours. Serial killers for example are able to deceive their entire family and friends. I'm not saying Rock/Mercer is as bad as a serial killer, but the things Mercer has done and said are serious! Saying such awful things about the dead and about people's children and families is just terrible. That is unforgivable!

Good thing you got your name cleared. I mean you have a tendency of getting into arguments with other forum members but you shouldn't be falsely accused of off-forum misdeeds, that's just low. So, what are your thoughts on Pixeldude's evidence in this thread, is Rock the culprit who tried to frame you and who has been behind these nasty Mercer sockpuppet accounts? Because it sure seems that way right about now... sadly, @Winston appears to still be in denial about it. I hope he lets things sink in and accepts the uncomfortable truth sooner rather than later, because it very much looks like his close friend and associate has been rather two-faced for quite some time. Rock has a lot of explaining to do and should come clean.
