The Shining, but I would rather consider it a cross between Thriller and Horror both.

Check out this spooky British paranormal miniseries from 1977 called "Children of the Stones". It's about a cult that worships supernatural stones in an English village. It has spooky music and beautiful English green countryside scenery. Episodes 1 to 7 are here in this playlist. It looks pretty good. The shows in the 70s were so original and the characters more relatable.

Check out this thriller from 1986 called "The Hitcher" about a guy picking up a hitchhiker that turns deadly. I'm sure it fueled paranoia toward strangers in America. lol. Full movie below.
Released in 1986, The Hitcher is a gripping horror thriller that takes audiences on a harrowing journey through the desolate highways of West Texas. When a young motorist picks up a mysterious hitchhiker, a relentless game of cat and mouse begins. The traveler finds himself drawn into a web of terror as the enigmatic stranger wreaks havoc at every turn. With an atmosphere steeped in tension and danger, the film explores themes of survival and the unpredictable nature of human behavior. Directed by Robert Harmon and featuring a chilling performance by Rutger Hauer, this intense ride keeps viewers on edge, solidifying its place as a cult classic of the genre.

Check out this anthology series called "Hammer House of Horror" from England. There are only 13 episodes and they are really good and spooky. All the episodes are on YouTube. See the playlist below. I saw "Witching Time" and "Guardian of the Abyss" they were pretty rad. The latter one has a great twist too. The British women in them are very feminine and beautiful.
