Anyone else not care about the Superbowl like me?

Post by zboy1 »

Does anyone else here not give a damn about the Superbowl like me? In my opinion, its just a complete exercise in excess materialism and consumerism with all the commercials, and is prime example of the dumbed-down sheep we call Americans. It's such a mind-numbing exercise in stupidity and brainwashing, I can't find myself even interested in watching it. I guess I'm not the only one who feels this way:

Yeah, I am not even going to watch it, I hardly ever do, unless my home team is in it (which they almost never are). :)

I've been saying this all day...WHO CARES ABOUT THE SUPERBOWL? I don't give a rats ass about this game. I was invited to my aunt's house for it but I DON'T care!! I have better things to do with my time. Especially women irritate me about watching this game. Another reason that puts me outside the parameters of American culture.

I don't intend to watch a second of it. If I had it my way, all of these overpaid athletes would be ground up and made into lunch meat to feed the homeless.

Not my idea of entertainment.

The SuperBowl is a hyped event elevated to almost holiday status so that corporations can launch lucrative advertising spots which millions will view. The food and beverage industry earns more money during the Superbowl than all other days except Thanksgiving.

Secondarily, many people gamble on the SuperBowl and there is no other sporting event that is more bet upon.

Finally, it is the NFL championship, but who really cares about that?

I didn't watch either, but I did win 100 bucks in a betting pool with friends, so at least that makes me happy too!

Hmmm, married women in the U.S. would rather have sex than watch the Super Bowl: http://offthebench.nbcsports.com/2012/0 ... l/related/

Depending on who the woman is, I'd still rather watch the game (especially if my hometown is in the game). BUT I could always squeeze in time for sex during the halftime show. :D

People that are actually living abroad on this forum (which is a tiny minority) don't have this problem of tuning out the shitbowl.
